 | | The renovation work to the front of First Baptist Church of Wakefield is complete. All of the trim has been repaired and painted, and the vinyl siding has been installed. According to church officials, the size of the structure and the height of the steeple -180 feet - required the extensive use of scaffolding, which presented an eyesore. Members of the church expressed appreciation with the town's patience while all of the work was in progress.
Ahead now lies the task of raising money to continue the renovation work on the other sides of the 1872 building. The church is thankful for the contributions that have been made by the people outside the church and by the members, to further this work. The church invites everyone, whether an individual or a business, who appreciates the beauty of the building and who is so inclined to aid this effort, to participate in the "1872 Building Exterior Renovation Fund" at the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield.
