This year's conference, "Lutherans and Catholics in Dialogue: The Church as CommUNITY," will be from 4 to 8:15 p.m. Sept. 10 at Miller's Lutheran Church, 2280 12th Ave. N.E., Hickory, and again from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Sept. 11 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Raleigh.
The N.C. Lutheran/Roman Catholic Covenant Committee, will present the conference. It features Michael Root, dean of the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, and Susan Wood, professor of theology and associate dean at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minn.
Root and Wood are part of the current Lutheran Roman Catholic Dialogue Team, which is completing work on the latest dialogue document, "Lutherans and Catholics in Dialogue X; The Church as Koinonia of Salvation: Its Structures and Ministries."
Cost is $10 and includes lunch. For details or registration materials, call the Rev. Peirson Shaw, facilitator of the N.C. Lutheran/Roman Catholic Covenant Committee at Miller's Lutheran Church, (828) 324-8847 or e-mail cpshaw@charter.net.
