The MX-bikes were barely rid of the aggressive salty sand from the coast, when they were already moved in an easterly direction: to Gobabis. Messrs Big-5, headed by Wikus Engelbrecht, acts as the main sponsor. Wikus is also the driving force behind the Gobabis Moto Cross Club. According to received information the track was broadened and in front of the spectators terrace a 30m jump was built. The riders enjoy riding in Gobabis, the consistency of the soil is absolutely unique in Namibia.

Namibia in the NewsOn Sunday, 8 April 2007, the Windhoek Moto-Cross Club held the First Round of the Namibian National Enduro Championship at the Swakopmund Moto-Cross Park. Thirty two riders entered for the event, thirteen with bikes and nineteen with quads. Racing started at 11:00 with Tamo Piehl on his Yamaha 450 YFZ Quad. The riders left the starting grid in one minute intervals to do five 30,5 km laps through the rugged Namib desert. The starting order were determined by a draw.

Sicherheitskräfte patrouillieren auf der Landebahn des internationalen Flughafens Windhoek und inmitten des Rollfeldes drehen sich aufgelöste Pferde wieder und wieder um die eigene Achse. Nach 24 Stunden Transport haben zwei Hengste und drei Stuten erstmals wieder festen Boden unter den Hufen. Etwas scheu und steif vom langen Stillstehen in ihrem Container lassen sich die Araber-Stuten willig am Strick über das Rollfeld zum Pferdeanhänger führen, der sie vom Flugplatz zur staatlichen Quarantänestation Bergvlug bringen soll. Nur der neunjährige Graphik Ibn Bagdad gebärdet sich, als gehöre der Flughafen ihm. Hoch erhobenen Hauptes tänzelt der zierliche Fuchs in Hengst-Manier auf dem Asphalt und wiehert laut nach seinen Stuten.
