 | | A suicide bomber set off a car explosion in central Baghdad, killing at least two people and injuring at least 13, Agence France-Presse said, citing police officer Captain Issam Ali and Salah Mahdi, a hospital doctor.
Police Sergeant Sayed Khamat said the blast occurred near two sports utility vehicles resembling those used by the Coalition Provision Authority, the U.S.-led occupation administration in the country, AFP reported earlier.
The news agency, citing one of its correspondents, said the ``huge'' explosion shook the city, sending up a smoke cloud from the area of Sadoun Street, a commercial boulevard east of the Tigris. The blast destroyed the front of one building, AFP said.
Yesterday, 12 Iraqis were killed and 13 were wounded when a bomb exploded in eastern Baghdad shortly after a senior Iraqi official was assassinated, the second government representative to be killed in 24 hours.
